Move, create, perform.

A new free weekly movement company for boys aged 11 to 18 in Ipswich. The project creates opportunities for boys to explore movement, build confidence, meet new friends, work with professional artists and perform. The aim is to create a fun space filled with movement and creativity rather than learning to be “a dancer”.

Each week, boys will explore different styles of movement and dance, including hip hop and contemporary, provide a space for them to develop creative skills, and chances to perform in unusual settings such as pop-ups and festivals.

We’ve started this project because we know how little opportunities there are for boys specifically within dance and movement. We’re committed to reducing the barriers that can stop boys from taking part, including stigma, fear, cost and location. It’s completely free to attend, and travel bursaries are available to help make it easier to take part.

Is it for me?

If you’re a boy aged 11-18 and you:

  • Already enjoy dance or are curious about movement
  • Have never tried anything like this before or have no dance experience
  • Love sport, physical activity or creative activity
  • Want to move in a different way
  • Want to make new friends who share your love of movement
  • Are interested in performance opportunities

Then these sessions are for you.
